We cannot believe that there isn't an experienced Gearbox Technician out there with the skills and experience to work for one of the leading and most successful companies in the sector. Jobs are hard to come by in motor-sport in 2010 but the classic 'fast road' and race market is still buoyant and offers real career opportunities to those with a passion for older cars and who gain satisfaction in providing superlative service to discerning customers.
The Company has been in business for over 25 years and operates from a delightfully rural setting but close to the heart of England. Apart from its engineering, prototyping, restoration, servicing and historic racing activities, our Client manufactures key components in-house and has a state-of-the-art dyno as well as sophisticated precision engineering equipment. It also has a fully-stocked parts store and operates a global mail-order business specialising in the '60s race and rally car market. It even manufactures new cars (replicas) built from scratch. The Company (which currently employs 27 people) expects high levels of dedication and commitment to the job as well as the ultimate in workmanship. The work involves building and maintaining road and race gearboxes for cars such as Austin Healeys, MGs and Jaguars and vehicles powered by Coventry-Climax and Lotus Twin-Cam units. The successful candidate will be able to work on a variety of cars, often at the same time.
